I'm moving to my newly built condo and they(SBC and Comcast) just informed me that there is no internet service in my area. OMG!!!! :Q for once in 5 years I'll be without Interweb. What am I going to do with all this free time! goddamit..... 🙁 Back to Dial-up? You got to be kidding.

Maybe you can get wireless. It's available in my area, has excellent ping, but costs about four times as much as 1.5 Mbit cable.

my in-laws have satelite service. Its $59 a month for crappy download rate. Not to mention they have been having trouble with the e-mail and connection problems.
 
you could multilink dialup ... or go with ISDN ... sure its just as expensive as cable ... but fast enough at least to cruise the web .. and play online games without TOO much lag.
 
SATELLITE IS HORRID SOOOOOOO expensive and you'll be no better off than dialup. I'm so sorry to hear about your lose 🙁

Satellite is expensive and not very reliable, but it beats the he!! out of dial-up!

Sorry for you, man.

I would move b4 I could give up cable internet.

Boy, is that a slap in the face. How can you possibly need broadband to browse the internet? It's a little slower, but you know, the pages still look the same 😉
