OMG!! - The FUTURE is here!

Looks cool, but what a pain to use, and you have to wear that ridiculous thing on the front of your shirt or whatever. In a lot of those scenes it looked like he was straining to keep the image where he wanted it. It has potential but looks like it has a LONG way to go.

Is this for real?
If so, here comes Robocop!
I always liked Robocop, but thought to myself "I wish he were real, he would protect me!"
What would he protect me from?
Futuretech crap like this.
Thank you, come again!

I don't know that's it's so far off. That's the cheap version. If you put some money into it, it could be very usable. It doesn't seem practical at this point for your average person, but I could see it having some serious niche value right now.

A LOT of money. It still has a LONG way to go.

Plus i see a ton of drawbacks, 1) it uses a projector, a projector? Really? So using it in bright light is next to impossible. Even in those rooms he was in on the video everything looked washed out. 2) Again, being attached to the user, you have to aim it, you know how difficult it would be to use one of these things and walk down the street at the same time? Big push for the smartphone there. 3) He needs a BACKPACK to carry it around, the computer, the power, all that is enormous. I agree that again, with some money, that stuff could shrink, but its still going to be much bigger of a pack than i think anyone might want to carry around.

I dunno, i wouldnt be buying any stock in this. Who knows, i could be wrong, but thats just my take on it.

Ok THIS is cool, but I don't believe this part for a second.

How would it have any idea what you're grabbing from an ordinary piece of paper? The only way I could ever seen that working is if the camera can see what's on the piece of paper, interpret (like a "smart" scanner) what it is, and put it in a digital form. That alone would be revolutionary if it works as well as they show, but I'm 90% sure it doesn't. What this guy is trying to do is great. However, technology has a long way to go before a webcam and some good software replaces general computing.

A better idea, IMO, would be a tablet with excellent software and a camera on the back. Include the ability to pinch a physical paragraph of text, picture, etc. from an external source to copy it digitally and "dump" it onto the screen, but keep the digitial tablet screen so we don't have to worry about finding a good wall to use or our own movements skewing what we're trying to accomplish (try using the Sixth Sense system as a passenger in a car... not going to happen). Hmmm... off to the patent office! 😛
