i like saffron rice myself. from houston.

fuggin' uncle ben's moved out to california so i refuse to buy their rice now

One of the most fantastic things you can do (and easiest) with left over rice (plain old white rice is fine), is to fry it in a skillet with a little oil. Mix/turn every few seconds until it's lightly browned and the grains are separated. You're done! Fried rice - nothing complicated, but it's sooooooo good! If you do this in a cast iron skillet, cleanup is practically nothing.

Why's it bad that they moved to california?

Granted, Uncle Ben's is and always has been suck, but California rice is second only to premium short grain Japanese first crop rice.

My mother would make soggy rice :( I like rice to be light and fluffy.

I heard the optimal recepie is 1/2 rice, 1/2 water. That true?

sticky rice is awesome ...
especially when you eat it as soon as it's finished cooking
