OMG Sprint Sucks

So I'm going over my credit card statement and I see this $1200 bill from Sprint Wireless. Turns out they had billed me for 1400 roaming minutes last month. ($986!!) Well... First, I have free roaming and second, I never left the island in February. Hmmm... Guess I'll call customer service.

First phone call... they kiss my ass... we're so sorry Mr Whoozyer... we'll get that refunded to you asap. (after being on and off hold for a half hour) That was two weeks ago.

Monday... I call back again because my credit card still shows this re-cockulous bill outstanding. Ohhh... we're so sorry Mr Whoozyer, we'll take care of that right away. Again, this is a 30 minute phone call.

Today :|

Non-English speaking phone bank troll: Well Mr Whoozyer I see that your account has been credited.
Me: Great, how long before that reflects on my on-line credit card statement?
Non-English speaking phone bank troll: We will cut you a check and mail it to you in 7-10 business days.
Me: WTF? Just refund it to my credit card.
Non-English speaking phone bank troll: We can't do that.
Me: Why?
Non-English speaking phone bank troll: Because we can't do that.
Me: That's not an answer. Why can't you just refund directly to my credit card?
Non-English speaking phone bank troll: I'll ask my supervisor.
(HOLD....... zzzzzzzzzz)
Non-English speaking phone bank troll: We can put a rush on that check and it will be issued in 3 days instead of 7-10.
Me: :disgust:

The dialogue goes back and forth like this for a half hour (Hold please, I'll ask... Hold please, I'll ask...) until FINALLY

Non-English speaking phone bank troll: Ok.. I have spoken to my supervisors again. They will issue a refund to your credit card in 24-48 hours.

Now really... What was so hard about that? Why did it take three phone calls and a couple hours of my time to make them see the obvious? When you make a mistake and drop a grand on a guys credit card you should take it off immediately. Why does Sprint insist on being so obtuse about this? WTF is this making me wait as long as two weeks to get back the money they misbilled me for? (7-10 days to MAIL the check... then travel time...) I don't get it.

**UPDATE**
Hahaha... :|

Just got a call back. NOW they say they CAN'T refund my card. They are overnighting me a check. It should be here Monday. Number portability FTW!!! Guess I'll try that $99 unlimited thing at Verizon.

Similar experience with Sprint here. They're the worst of the worst. Scum of the fucking earth. I'll dance the day they have to fold/sell off to someone else.

I believe it's because they bite a big fee when they refund that large of an amount. I know that when I have a large negative balance on my CC, they will cut me a check instead of transferring it to my bank account (that I paid it with and the CC is with my bank.)

I bought a Sprint phone from Costco and returned it 10 days later (15 day return policy)...it took 3 months to get it straightened out with sprint (about 15 calls).

They charged me an early termination fee of $250 and other miscellaneous BS fees and charges...each call was over 20 minutes of holding and then another 10-15 minutes of talking to a cluess phone rep....

I regret getting in on the SERO plan as well. Anyone know how to break free from a 2 yr contract?

Tired of lame hackeys bouncing me around from different depts, Ensemble, etc.

I want my iPhone!!!

Every company tries to pass off a check, credit, or gift card over actually refunding via the payment method you used.

Damnit, which reminds me that Dell STILL has not refunded me for an order price change six weeks ago. Grr.

So if you never had an issue, then you have never had to call their customer service?

This is why I don't autopay bills that could potentially be screwed up. That way, if I have to challenge a charge on it, at least they're not holding my money hostage during the process.

I've called customer service for things like phone upgrades, plan discounts, etc. No problems at all.

Sprint sucks major fucking donkey balls.

I had me on wait for about 3 hours, agents avoiding responsibility... utter fvcking crap service.

Only reason I'm with them now is because I finally got in on the SERO deal and paying almost nothing.

To be fair, AT&T would've just mailed you the check as well. Once the credit card charge has been done and approved, they won't refund it back. Something to do with it's for pre-paid (pay in advance) services rather than for equipment or something. But our accounting department would've cut the check within a day and overnighted it to you, so yes, you'd still have a check to deal with, but it would only take a day or two.

My wife has a collection on her credit report from those fuckers that I refuse to pay. Those cock gobblers renewed her contract when she changed her service, and never told her about it. When I called to complain, they claimed they have a 3rd party verification service that verified acceptance of a contract extension. I said great, let me see it. "Sorry sir, we cant do that". We dont use her credit, so I told them they can fuck off and die, and they'll never get a red cent from us. That was 3 years ago. They've cut the amount to a quarter of the original balance trying to collect, and they still aint getting shit.

Fuckers.

I work for an e-commerce company, and we can easily credit post-authorized transactions. It's supported directly by the merchant processor.

Tell us how you really feel.. :p

I'm glad I'm not the only one here.

So... is there really a Santa Claus? Is there really a cell service that won't bend you over the first chance it gets? I was actually ok with Sprint until this. The first time I actually needed service from them and it cost me hours of my time just generally pissed me off.

Anyone... Bueller?

I have had horrible CS experience with all 4 mobile companies, but Sprint's is especially bad because of their craptacular billing system. Verizon's billing system is pretty bad too because of their merger (there's like West billing and East billing).

It will cost you $140 at Verizon to equal Sprint's $99. Their Unlimited Plan does not include data or messaging.

The only reason I am with sprint is because I pay $30/month on the SERO plan for something that would cost me well over $100/month with verizon and would have paid far more for the phone.

Me too. Well worth the $800 in yearly savings.

It would appear to not be a good day for dealing with companies

Hope you get your check!

if you have free roaming.... just make over 50% of your calls on roaming and they'll cancel your account without the termination fee.
