I don't know what's worse now. The possibility of RROD or the constant nagging of the PS3 controller that never connects. I have it connected via USB most of the time - and with the really short cable Sony so generously provides. I tried resetting the controller and it doesn't work. It happened on the SIXAXIS and now it's continuing on the DS3.

This is ridiculous... frustrated.

PS3 controller that never connects? Weird. I've never had that happen.

It happens on the Wii all the time, but never on the 360 or PS3

I'm with Dumac on this. Never had a problem with Bluetooth not connecting on my PS3.

maybe something is wrong with the console or you have some sort of interference going? didn't even realize it could not connect... everything is so automatic :/

Reset the PS3. During bootup, continue pressing the power on button till you hear a second beep.
I've had a problem with a sixaxis not connecting at first, but that was when trying to turn on the PS3 using the ps button. The lights on the controller would flash and nothing would happen. Once I turned the system on myself and pressed the PS button again, it connected.

I've definitely had no problems with my DS3, though mine is a white ds3 imported when it launched in Japan. One day I'll get a fourth controller, but only once I get a good 4-player game. Hopefully Resistance 2 will be worthwhile, because Resistance I always end up getting bored with. With no vehicles in Resistance 2, I'm kind of bummed, but maybe the play itself will be more improved. All of my friends have 360's, and shooters like CoD4 (which we play on their 360s frequently, that or zombie matches in Halo 3), I prefer on the PC, and refuse to buy for the PS3 when I have it on the PC.

It may be my speakers. I moved my console away from them and the controller seems to work now. I'll see if it continues to behave.

The only time I've had a problem with the controller connecting is when I had it plugged into a usb hub, and the hub is connected to the console. When I hit the PS button it doesnt turn on the console. I just have to unplug from the hub and its fine. Other than that, unless the battery is low on the controller I've never had a problem.

It still has quirks, which reminds me... There was never any interference when the controller was plugged in. And the controller always communicates wirelessly, so it must be a PS3 issue.

Hm...that sounds like an issue my PS3 had. Every time I had it close to a specific LCD monitor I would sometimes play it on, the Wi-Fi wouldn't work properly. I think I had that PS3 replaced after CoD4 bricked it...but I've had an ethernet cable running to my room since the wireless was being weird...so I wouldn't know.
