Uninstall AdBlock Plus, install AdGuard. For whatever reason AdBlock Plus causes pages to not completely load right away, so I always have to wait till I see the reload icon in the nav field before I could actually scroll the page. When I used to use ABP with Chrome and there was no delay, but I'm tired of Google so I went back to Safari. I was just about to switch back to Chrome but looked for an alternative and found out about AdGuard. With AdGuard, pages load instantly. Finally get the feeling of browsing in 2014, not 1996 on a 56k modem.

This is solely IMHO here, but proxy based filtering makes me uneasy. It involves completely intercepting all traffic, including HTTPS. And you can't customize it in the same way you can client (browser) filtering if it's misbehaving.

So Adguard is proxy based while Adblock is browser (client side)?

That might be just the full app since it does a lot of other things, and I think the proxy is local. Looking at the faq you can disable it, but then you miss out on the all desktop filtering options. I think the extension simply uses a list. You can also view the lists here:

http://adguard.com/en/filters.html#english

Edit it, then import your version. To see list your extension is using, or add a list, click on the AdGuard Badge in the browser.

I'm not 100% though on the extension using a local list, since I haven't thought about it until you brought it up. Seems like it though since you can completely customize the filtering.
