a local radio station got tired of teens calling, requesting a certain song. So, to make up for it, they made an anouncement for the teens to call a 1-800 number to win a contest. The only rules? You must say "I am going to kill the President."

Many did.

Turns out it was one of the Whitehouse phone numbers. ;Q

The Secret Service was notified, the teens were investigated, SS found out about the radio station's prank, and all at the station were fired.

Assassination... The highest form of public service. "Not my quote - but poignant nonetheless"

Not cool at all. As much as I loathe Clinton, I NEVER wanted him dead.

I wanted him in prison, being raped several times a day by various Nation of Islam members, but, I never wanted him dead.

You got a link to this story, or is it made up?

no link, I just heard it on the "five o'clock news" tonight. I'll go looking for a link to the story, if it's on the newsrooms's website... brb

I too, heard this story on the radio today, but I haven't seen any coverage of it on the 'net (haven't searched either). What a stupid thing to do..... I mean, what did they think would happen when people would actually call that number and say what they wanted them to say???

Hahah, great one.

Some radio show here in iceland called the FBI once, telling them about a song that was popular here by some canadian band. In this song, which is a very calm and relaxing, the singer sings "kill the president, I killed the presedent". And the FBI guy got so serious that it was strating to get a little to much. He asked about the band name, who where in it, where they lived and everything. I think the FBI and all of those agencies are a little bit to over protective of their president.

A couple of DJs in Boston were fired because they release a fake story on April 1 about the mayor being killed in a car accident. The mayor's wife freaked out when she thought her husband was dead.

A local DJ in my town tried to call a major celebrity. When he could not get through to her, he announced her phone number on the air. Well, not all the numbers, he gave the area code, and the first 6 digits. Well, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out the last digit. He got fired for that prank, but was reinstated shortly thereafter.

The SS does not screw around with that crap. Those at the station were stupid to make such a contest. Reminds me of the time when a radio station was having a contest for 100 grand. The winner was freaking out cause he was so happy, acting like a buffoon. The anouncer asked, "So what are you going to do with your 100 grand?"

"I dunno I'll probably get a new truck or something."

"Dude, how are you going to do all that with a candy bar? *laughing*"

I think the station was sued and they did end up having to pay the guy. Guess who's laughing now. ;)

Edit: Found a wav for it. Pretty funny. :)

Hey Dirk,

I like your answer, sound like something I would say :D

Ive always been worried something would happen to him prematurely and we would get stuck with Gore. Now that may happen anyway.
