Guys, since the first day i built this computer, windows put up an icon for 'safely remove' and it wants to safely remove my HDD. I cant figure out anyway to take the icon away, so i just set it to hide. No one knows how to get rid of it, and i was wondering if you all had the same problem or could help. Thanks alot!

Actually I have the same problem, but I've just ignored it. I have a WD Raptor 74gb. I wish I knew how to disable the annoying icon as well.

yea just leave it be,

im curious to what woudl happen if you tried to unmount your primary HDD tho, i guess it would either fusk stuff up bad or you would get an error saying that you cant remove it because something is useing it

Heres me thinking you were going to say that steering wheel down your pants.

Anywho, its not causing you harm so Id just leave it. 1 icon isnt making you paranoid or stressed is it?

you can get rid of it, you just set windows to ignore that device within the "safely remove hardware" icon

I had the same problem a while back, and it pissed me off so much that I just curled up in a ball and thought about pancakes and hoped it would go away. Short time later it just went away, no idea how. Hope this helped.
