Fsck. Fsck. FSCK!!

I got pulled over several months back, and am just now getting to the end of it.. or so I thought..

I thought that my court date was today, November 8th. But I just looked at my paper, and it was yesterday the 7th! I fscking missed it!

I made a deal with the officer, went and took a class that he participated in, he saw me there... Fsck! I can't believe this happened, I'm such a dumbass.

Is there any hope, or will they throw the book at me? What should I do? Ugh.

:(

Edit: No, no, no, people. This wasn't a criminal court issue, it's just stupid traffic fines. There is no warrant out for my arrest, LOL.

The agreement I had with the officer was that if I took the class, he would drop the 80 in a 55, which was a 400something dollar ticket. I'd plead guilty to Careless Driving, which was only like 240$.

But, based on my previous hearing.. the judge just finds you guilty if you're a no-show.

This sucks too. The officer must think I'm an idiot. I was getting kinda friendly with him after talking in court, and then again at the class. He's seems to be a pretty cool guy.

I asked him how he knew I was going 80, he said that he didn't.. he just guessed.

Gotta love it. ;) lol

Edit2: Well, just got off the phone.

I was found guilty, and have to pay the fines in full. What a waste of money. :( The officer was so nice to me too.

Expensive lesson. Check and doublecheck dates. I'm usually so good with stuff like that.

I would be calling and either coming up with a good excuse or investing in a set of kneepads

judge probably already ruled? I guess you will find out in the mail?

Maybe the officer put in good words for you.

I mean I know what happens when you don't show.. they just find you guilty of everything.

So I guess thats probably what happened? Man, I'm so screwed. Guess I'll probably just have to bend over and take it like a man.

Once the judge has ruled there's nothing you can do but pay up right? They don't care about excuses.....

Office Space...

I think they may give you some sympathy, depending on what it is.

I believe that if you miss your courtdate you automatically plea guilty.

You can appeal.
If I were you, I'd just talk to them. They'll immediately realize that you're borderline retarded and take pity. ;)

I did the same thing @ 15 years ago. There's probably a warrant out for your arrest.
Get down there at 8 or 9 o'clock and be honest with 'um.
My fines didn't increase, but there was a class of 6th graders in there on a field trip and the judge definately made a show out of it.
I'm talkin' Screaming and Yelling.

So you got pulled over... so what? You will have to pay the fine, which is the full amount that you would have had to pay if you didn't take a class and go to court in the first place.

Unless... there is much more to the story.
What were you charged with?

I think eli has had prior problems with the police, wasn't there some drug seizure/charge?

Go down there asap. It look better on your behalf. They will come to your home and arrest you if you do not. Have someone go with you that has money to post bail/pay fees.

maybe not. maybe they reschedule. why not give them a call? people make mistakes. I think the trick is to stay in communication with them. If you don't let them know what happened (e.g., you forgot) then they might assume you just don't care or have no intention of turning up.
