the purpose of the zalman was to reduce noise(since the fan became very loud recently). i followed recommended heatsink removal procedure.. (freezed it for about 30mins)
yeah i purchased this card when it was expensive..

anyway, i was just pointing out the fact that u need reciept to get RMA from certain venders. as i learned from my phone call , I CANNOT return my card becuase it is damaged on my part and i do not have the recipet.

i wasnt trying to scam the vender, i was just finidng out what the warrent coverage includes and the procedure for RMA.

the objective of my post was to inform those that care, and to illustrate what a horrible friday it is for me..

END OF STORY!

P.S. all you people that accusing me of any wrong doing, need to check yourself... and that guy called me a tool... whats your problem?
i also suggest this product for you guys, PM me and ill mail you one click here😀

calledup PNY but you need a receipt for RMA...
Making my firday more wonderful, my IBM HD decided to die on me along w/ many important files (non pr0n)

At least you did not lose your porn

My GF2 I froze and then it was still a pain to pop off. My GF4 I pulled straight out of my computer after it was on for a while and the thing came right off, but the compound was gooey, not hard like my GF2.

Do you know what you actually damaged? Pics? Maybe it can be fixed...

for you HD try teh freezer trick and then see if you can get a program called "bad copy pro" it can and will save files for you

Don't some manufacturers also do non-warranty repair service? For a price of course. This was my understanding when reading some warranty conditions from manufacturers.

thanks for the helpful suggestions. luckly my IBM drive is still under warrenty, and most of the lost files can be replaced.

as far as the video card goes, theres no noticable phycial damage to the card, posible GPU damage, ( the DVI port doesnt work, the analog port works, but shows pixlelated images, and lines across the screen. ) probably have to shop for a new card now.

any good deals goin on now?

whats the fx equivalent of TI4600 proformance? (ive been out of the loop for a while)

An fx 5600 Ultra would be relatively same performance.

My friend was just in a similar situation, his pny ti4600 went bad and i helped him RMA it. They replaced it with a fx 5600 ultra, close enough.
