That's exactly why he has to pick one or the other, no way the dad wants to be overcharged and have to pay $1025! That's just insane.

Any spoiled AOL-addicted rich kid would be smart enough to say "OK dad, you pay for the T1 & you can take AOL out of my allowance."

Probably not the entire package, just 1/2 of it.

T1 requires a line + an ISP, not to mention the CSU/DSU.

Ok...now that the initial shock has worn off...he probably isn't BS'ing, he is just an idiot. He for some reason probably thinks T1 is DSL or something. But even then...he's still an idiot for picking AOL.

Now that is much more likely, many people have no clue when it comes to anything faster than dial-up.

I did DSL support for quite a while, it's amazing how many people think they have a T1 - And expect T1 like uptimes.

You can't get a T1 in residential areas....or at least I don't think you can.

And just explain the quality of broadband porn, and i'm sure you'll convince him. The goats have never looked more real.....

You can get a T1, it just might cost you a lot.

A T1 is a point to point connection, if you need it & have the money they'll lay the cable for you.

No, it's possible to get a burstable T1 line for that much. It's just that you get what you paid for. The office next to us got a T1 line for half the price we paid for ours. Well, their connection has been down for the last 2 days. Haha.. I felt so sorry for them that I almost let them tap into our network.
