i had my E3Cs stolen out of my locker at the gym :(

I'm using OEM earbuds - music now sounds like a muddled cacophony of noise

Lord have mercy on your soul :(
I had to deal with *shudder* iPod headphones during the 2-week lazyness period it took me to sell my E2Cs and buy E4Cs.

No, what you want are the UE10Pro.

I'm pretty sure this is how you were when you got E4Cs. No pun intended :)

Hehe, if I was able to talk myself out of 2 driver IEMs, I should be able to with the 3 driver IEMs.

I think the E2C tip shafts are not the same as the E4C tip shafts.

You could always try DIYing your own foamies. There's a good thread on Head-Fi made by jSatch about it, some pretty good info.

They're not, they're a lot fatter and shorter; I'm just trying to figure out which tip with the E4s will give me the closest experience to the large foam tips on the E2s, because IMO, those offered the best isolation and bass.

Check out this link. You can get a custom mold for the E4 for about $100. I use them with my E3 for performance reasons.

You won't have to worry about them not fitting properly.

You're going to like them so much more in 3 months when you finally figure out how to properly insert them.

Already got that down, I had E2Cs for a year, and Sony Fontopias for around a year before that. Nailed the E4Cs on the first try.

Do you really have to wrap them over your ear? Can you just wear them like reguar earbuds (with the wire going straight down towards your shoulders)?

yes, you could, but then microphonics ftl

Custom molds are too big IMO, I'll probably be able to get damn good sound out of the foamies.
