Okay, so he is looking for a new truck, he comes home and tells me this:

"I want a 2002 Chevy Avalanche Daniel!" "We saw a blue one at the dealer and it is 36k!"

I was like "YOU ARE FVCKING WHACK DAD!"

Then he was like, "What, it's a nice truck!"

I was like "It's made out of plastic Dad, PLASTIC!!! :|"

HOW CAN I TALK THIS POOR MAN OUT OF BUYING IT BEFORE HE MAKES THE WRONG CHOICE AGAIN. :(
Last year he bought a 32k Chrysler Sebring Limited and just got rid of it. :(

OMG OMG OMG!! :Q
PART 2 OF THIS TRAMA!

Okay, I wake up a hour ago, and my mom says "Come outside Daniel."
What do I see outside......
THE BLUE AVALANCHE!! :Q
I WAS LIKE "WTF!? YOU BOUGHT IT ALREADY?!" :|
My dad was like "Not yet, we are just seeing if it fits in the garage."
I was like "God help us."
Then they leave to talk price..............
:(
CRY.

EDIT 3:
HOLY SH!T! :Q
I swear.
Some miracle happened. :D

THEY AREN'T GETTING IT NOW. :D

Try this conversation:

You: "You cannot keep on making these impulse purchases. You have a problem."
Him: "The only problem is that I don't have an Avalanche!"
You: "You are wasting your money."
Him: "But the dealer said that if I committed today, I would get a %3 rebate. It sounded good, so I took it:)"
You: "You are stupid. But instead of trying to make you smart, I will manipulate you. Let us go to the local VW dealer where I can pick up my new Jetta GLI, which you will be paying for, of course."
Him: "Ok, sounds good to me, because it is a nice car also. We will go after I pick up the Avalanche."

Hope it works:)

Yeah, that's what you said to him.

It's his money. He's a grown man and can make his own decisions. It would be different if he were buying you a truck and picked the Avalance, but if this is his truck then let him be.

Thats kinda like my mom. Went out looking for another mini van...

...Came back with a 2002 Yukon Denali w/ 10in LCD, DVD, and a VCR all with wireless headsets.

Go figure.

The plastic cladding is incredible, it doesnt rust, resistant to dings and dents, plus you never even have to worry about scratches when washing it, which is especially important on the lower body panels.

Also, the Chevy Avalanche, from what I've seen, is a great truck...its versatile (acting as both a pickup and 4 door SUV)...and given the rock solid GM powertrain components (nevermind the electrical and body hardware problems) it should be a long lasting, dependable vehicle.

...I've always wanted to own a Suburban (small penis and all that) but it doesnt fit in my garage.

As far as suburbans go, its not that bad. The gearing gets around 15 in the city IIRC. Thats 50% better than the Ford Vadez. Too bad GM dosent offer the D-Max with a the Sub powertrain.

Why? The car was a pimp ride but we just didn't need it. That thing hauled ass, and we didn't have any problems with it at all.

No, you are correct. Avalanche loses some plastic for 03.

Well it if it gets scratched then it won't show as easily because paint would show right away if it got scratched, correct?
