I came home today and my computer will not load up windows. When i power it on, at first it would just cycle through the motherboard screenshot

I am not sure what motherboard i have, but looking inside my case i see

EP-9NPA+ULTRA im gonna look that up and see if i can find anything about it.

there is a little LED display on the back that usually reads FF i think, but now it just goes crazy displaying tons of numbers like C1, C2, FF.

Im going to just start unplugging and reconnecting things to see if anything changes.

If anyone has any ideas, help is appreciated.

thanks

Check for bad caps.

Where does it stop in the boot cycle? Does it remain powered on? What error messages do you get on your display?

I do not get any display anymore, I have never gotten the boot cycle. I have always just seen my motherboard logo (or possibly my video card logo, i cant remember.)

there are no error messages.
the computer stays on, but the monitor displays nothing, its a dell monitor, and the little light that is usually yellow when the monitor is receiving a signal, just stays orange.

im thinking that maybe its something with my video card, because my monitor no longer seems to be getting any signal from my computer

im going to check out what my video card is

It looks like i have an Nvidia Gforce 6 series

---

I pulled out the video card, and ram, and then put them back in to see if that made a difference, but it doenst seem to have changed anything except the red LED display on my mother board now just stays at a constant FF whatever that means.

First, reset your CMOS. If you can't do that, unplug it, remove the battery, then put it back in.

Make sure the memory and CPU are seated correctly.

Make sure that the CPU fan spins on powerup.

Check your cables.

Visually inspect for damage.

Get into the BIOS if you can, and check temps if you have that feature.

Clean any dust out of your CPU cooler.

Good luck!

one time that happen to me I ended up almost throwing the mb in the trash

but try taking everything off the mb

all of the pci, memory, video, eveything.

clear the cmos via jumper or lith battery removal

now start by placing one stick of ram and a video card and power n to see if it will at least post..if yes continue putting on one part at a time back on

hope this helps!!

I am not sure what CMOS is

The memory and CPU are seated fine, the computer has worked for the last year and a half, no problems.

all fans power up, theres 2 on the case, 2 on the mother board, and 1 on the video card.

there has been no damage to it.
I do not know how to get into the bios i dont think i can anyways because my monitor is no longer receiving a signal.

i just used an air can up cleaning all the dust out. still no progress

there have been no noises or anything previous to today that would indicate something was wrong. it simply worked yesterday, now doesnt work today.

Sniff the motherboard to see if you smell burning.

Take the CPU cooler off and inspect the core for damage or charring (black or brown singe marks).

How come you can get to the motherboard screenshot but not the BIOS? Is it giving you any warning messages?

Check your motherboard manual to see what the red light means in the diagnostics.

Don't do any overkill such as resetting your bios, etc. and taking everything else out quite yet. Start to eliminate the obvious possibilities first, otherwise you are going to lose your sanity.

do the basics first, if your computer is powering on and you have no display, that means likely that your video card or the slot which your video card plugs into have malfunctioned, or that your monitor is dead.

Try a different monitor first, then try re-seating the video card in motherboard and trying again. If you still have no display, take out your current Nvidia 6 series video card and replace it with a spare one laying around. If that works, then it means your video card is the likely suspect. If the spare video card does not work, it is likely you are experiencing a problem with your motherboard (not that serious).
