I was trying to install win2k from the hard drive and I don't know what was wrong with it but it was thrashing constantly and after 15 hours it was up to 64%
still *seems* to be working. I guess ibm does make quality stuff

seeing as how most people here have their computers hard at work on something 24 hours a day, i'm not sure what kind of response you're hoping for. but it's good to hear it didn't blow up, all the same.
ok, 15 hours straight of violent seeking would be stressful but ok on a desktop drive. laptop drives aren't designed for that kind of abuse. they aren't even supposed to be left spinning for more than 2 days at a time.
