So many people seem to think that the military reserves is a two weeks a year + one weekend a month chance to play with guns and pick up a nice extra paycheck.

That's why you see idiots whining on TV about how they didn't really join to go to war, and how much they're going to suffer now that they won't have the double income.

My best friend growing up came from a military family, his dad + all three sons were in the reserves. They're all activated now, but you don't hear them bitching about it. They knew exactly what they signed up for.
