That was a fantastic video, completely devoid of any information about the actual product other then a picture.

Actually I don't see what's SO impressive in this video. Sure I like it and the rendering was very nice, but nothing exceptionally outstanding these days.
The interface idea is not an original one, see - http://www.levitated.net/daily/levTextSpace.html
The main concept of navigating in a virtual reality/movie like that is very cool, though I doubt it's truly original either (I mean this particular example is like a movie with role playing, which isn't all that new).

wow..NICE link.

Obviously these are not revolutionary ideas as they are somewhat jaded in those who see it everyday, but for some reason or another, good video rendering still impress me.

BTW, their design reel is offline for some reason. How big is it and can you host it if you saved a copy?

Yeah.. downloading it now (it's going kinda slow), but this is an awfully small size to see anything. Will check it out though.

EDIT: Ok, saw it and I like it. I like how they find nice tunes to go with their videos (this, the iPod video and the featured project on their site). But you can't judge rendering quality from such a small source. I mean the fact that it's blurry as hell and you can hardly make out things, means that there is more that you fill in by yourself, thus making it more real in your mind. Still cool though, and great mood.

Man.. as with that 'Real or CG girl' thread, seems that some of ATOT is kinda behind the current 3D video level and capabilities. Ndee - the movie is very nice, but I think it's not THAT impressive. The shaders on the materials and the raytracing are really cool, but you have to notice that the models (furniture, stairs, ceiling) are kinda low-poly.

er...i'm confused. I watched the video and I don't get what it has to do with IPOD.

It was a virtual tour of what looked like the "shining". And what were those glasses at the end of the video?

How anyone confuses that with CG is beyond me...
