Quick! Everyone forget how to drive! You half go 35mph and you other half try and do 90 weaving in out out of traffic

That doesn't really sound like a safe or wise idea. Hopefully nobody dies because of your irresponsible suggestion.

Why don't you tell us what speed is safe based on the type of vehicle, tire brand and tread wear.

If everyone would go twice the speed as they always do when its raining, the heat from the tires would dry the roads instantly. Everyone should know this already.

Just wait until we get our first good snow!

Everyone seems to forget how to drive in snow every year.

There's a King of the Hill episode about how Texans handle driving in snow, but generally it's any sort of precipitation. I can't stand it, and there's guaranteed to be accidents on the highway after work.

Please do this, and use tires inflated to the sidewall pressure. It's the only safe pressure.

Is your argument that everyone knows the safe speed of their vehicle, tire brand and tread wear and never deviates from it in poor weather? Or that it is impossible to judge unsafe driving habits without knowing these things? I am pretty sure that certain distance following practices are unsafe regardless of car, tire, tread

This happens every season, and every season people like you are shocked and offended, and every season people like me point out that you should expect it since this happens every fucking year, and every season this thread is reposted according to the weather.

And the cycle of life continues...

At least they were going 35 and 90... I was going 5 most of the way home. As frustrating as it was, I came to the realization that it was still better than walking the 15 miles (or so) in the cold rain. :)

Here in the CA Bay Area we just had some rain and yeah, everyone had forgotten how to drive in it. We get a little rain and everyone freaks out, whereas in say NY it would be just another day.
