How is teaching a child politics any different than teaching them religion?

Disclaimer: I'm independent/agnostic

Without speaking in too much depth - and I hope I don't seem like I'm being overly simplistic - politics involves understanding a bit more complicated topics than does religion. Understanding economics/foreign policy/health care/etc. involves an understanding of many things as well as some experience - teaching one to love thy neighbor is a little less academic (thus more suited for youth?).

"With the nation?s libraries and classrooms filled with overtly liberal children?s books advocating everything from gay marriage to marijuana use"

do i need to ask what they were smoking when that was written?

There is no doubt in my mind that it's real. You're not familiar with worldnetdaily.com, I take it?

I think one of their other books is
"Help, there is a gay couple living next door"

I think a more appropriate title is "help there are republicans in the closet"

At that age, you can't teach kids anything about politics - all you can do is brainwash them.

Unfortunately most of what we learn would be considered brainwashing.

the industry of education itself is a propagandizing brainwashing machine. ;)
