Omg!! I'm panicing

OMG!! sorry had to get that out. Ok I'm working on my First ever PC build right now and there might be a small problem, OK here is how it went I got a Socket 939 3200+ Venice core on a DFI Lanparty Ultra-D Mobo and this is the scary part ok I seated it all good on the pin adapter thing and when I went to close it, it made a craking nose like I bent the pins or something and now I'm freaking out since I dropped about 200 USD on this CPU and I was wondering is this normal? I need help urgantly!

when you were closing the locking arm it made that noise? take out the CPU and make sure the pins are ok. Sometimes it makes a somewhat loud noise when securing the chip.

It'll make a creaking noise, take it out to make sure the CPU is fine but I doubt you did anything to screw it up.

also would this be good enough just to run it stock a 450 watt Raidmax with 14a on the 12 rail and I'm running 2 ddr memory sticks, 2 hd, 1dvd-rom, 1 cd-rw, 3200+ venice, dfi Lanparty mobo, x300 se Hypermemory

ATI's lowest new gen card or likely the Onboard video on the ATI chipset.

Er, you DID line up the triangle in the corner of the processor and place it accordingly in the mobo socket, right? I.E. not force it in there like in another thread.

me still remembers the hammer guy:laugh:

i do not remember mine making a breaking sound...hopefully everything is good

Dunno usually when putting a processor into a board for the first time I hear a very faint sound like a if you took a poptart wrapper and just squeezed it between your fingers - a very slight crinkle.

I just consider it popping the boards cherry.

dfi recommends 480watts and native 24 pin cord to the motherboard. no adapter. alot are using the fortron blue storm 500watt. it has braided cables and native 24 pin. or look at ocz modstream 520 watt. or antec or enermax
