OMG I'm gonna work at Walmart tomorrow

yes that's right I work as an engineer for a toy company, and to put us more in touch with our customers they setup this deal where we go and work for a day in the toy department of a local retailer. I guess I'll be stocking shelves and stuff. should be interesting.

update: it wasn't too bad. we worked at Walmart from about 10-1 stocking shelves. normally there's a "planogram" that dictates what products go where but that kind of goes out the window in the holiday season, so we just brought up all of our stuff that we could find. one old guy asked me where he could find batteries and I was like "I don't know, I don't even work here!"

then we drove across town to do the same at a Toys R Us. I thought it was pretty weird that not one time did an employee ask wtf the 5 of us were doing. I guess now that I know where the stockrooms are I can just go in there any time I want 😉

on the plus side I learned that one of my co-workers husband is an F16 mechanic at a nearby ANG base and he's gonna hook me up with a visit 😀

is that as fun as it sounds?

sometimes, like when we test stuff with kids and hide behind the two-way mirrors 😉 sometimes it sucks because the product development schedules are super tight and designers change their minds too much.

Just blame everything on marketing.

Make sure you get there real early and you can listen to those Walmart FOOLS do their morning chant. I'd be chanting for enough PAY to try and survive on if I were them.

Screw Walmart.... :thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

Used to work at Wal-Mart, and after 5 months of crappy $6.25/hour pay, I went elsewhere. Luckily I was splitting rent with 3 others, and I didn't have too much problems surviving, as anything I needed, Wal-Mart supplied it. Whether they knew it or not, they did 😀.

See if he'll let you sit in the cockpit. My dad flew F-16s in the AirForce for many years so I got to see them all the time. You get such an amazing sense of power just sitting on one of those things.
