kelvrick, theres two brands that i know of, a crappy hotwheels version and the italian made burago version, which is the one i ordered. but the only site that i found where you can get it is from italy. you can also check your local hobby store first....

I just won a 1:18 Ferrari 456GT on eBay (made by Burago).

It sucks that Hot Wheels has the exclusive rights to make 1:18 Ferrari models now. I had to buy their Ferrari 550 Barchetta because no one else makes it. It's OK, but Maisto and most other brands are nicer.

Edit: I have 1:18 cars from BBurago, Maisto, UT Models, and Hot Wheels. UT Models makes the best I've seen, but the Hot Wheels Ferrari 360 is far better than what I have from Maisto and on par with what I have from BBurago.

GTaudiophile: Really? I have quite a few models, mostly Maisto and (B)Burago. In my experience, I think Maisto currently makes better cars than Burago or Hot Wheels.

All Maistos have independent suspensions on all four wheels and usually their steering works better than my Burago models. I had to take one Burago model back because the trunk would not shut, and several others have some small problems closing the doors etc. Only one of my Maisto cars has quality problems like that. My Hot Wheels car is not as nicely detailed as any of the others I have, Maisto OR Burago.

Overall, I think both Maisto makes nicely detailed cars for the money. Burago is not bad either. AutoArt, Kyosho, etc. make some nice models but they are just too expensive.

I am not too sure about Maisto cars of late. The two I have are kinda old: early Lamborghini Diablo and an early Mercedes SLK. As far as my Hot Wheels Ferrari Modena 360, it's one of the more detailed cars I've seen. Few cars go so far as to have the break calipers, but my Modena has them. It also has a 4-wheel independent suspension. It also had the Ferrari horse etched in the headrests as is true in "real life." I am impressed with it.

Odd... my 550 Barchetta is not quite so detailed. The seatbelt straps are painted onto the seats (not very well, either) whereas many of my cars have actual straps in them. The gauges and the interior overall just don't look that great.

It does have the brake calipers but so do some of my newer Maisto/Burago models. Like I said, it is an OK model, but it could be better.

Well, to the peopole that were actually productive in the post. Decided to listen to the majority of you and scrap the idea ofa f errari Just going to go with a '94 viper if I can find it new, used if I have to. Leaves me more money for a comftorable company launch.
