0.9 watts
That's actually for the Geode LX800, and the typical@500mhz is 1.8W and the TDP 3.6W.

Ive been wanting to do a Car PC for a long time so lets home its cheap. When the prices of pieces start hitting that $400.00 mark I get discouraged because I can put in a laptop for not much more.

I have been thinking about a car-media pc for a while as well. I have an old laptop that I am trying to mod a bit to output to 2 headrest screens and a dash screen running media center. The cheapest thing about the whole project has been the pc parts and hd. I cannot find cheap screens without buying an entire dvd system so far so the pc parts are the cheapest of the costs involved for me. These things would have to be at the most 200 bucks for them to be price effective since you can buy a decent laptop for 400 bucks as you said.

A lot of people give Intel credit for vastly improving power consumption from the Pentium era, but AMD is still the leader in power consumption on desktops. The reason is simply that AMD has much better idle power management than Intel (AMD CPUs can drop their clock speed and voltage lower at idle), and since most CPU time worldwide (in the office or at home) is spent at idle, they have much better overall power consumption.
