OMG! I tthink I nearly fried my MB

Iwas trying out a new Delta fan on my heatsink and when I powered up, the damn thing literally sounded like a hairdryer.

a few seconds later the power cuts out. It does this again when I repeat the attempt to power up.

So I conclude that the power supply cant supply enough juice so I replace my 350W supply with another one thats much noisier but can deliver more wattage.

Again the power cuts out after a few seconds. (Im not even making it to POST).

Damn delta fan just sucks too much juice I conclude...need more power than 350W,maybe a 400 or 450W or a separate PS for the Delta HAHAHHA. (Its connected directly to a 4 pin molex connector not a 3 pin MB connection)

So I give up and replace the old fan on the heatsink.

I power up and THE SAME THING HAPPENS AGAIN..AAHHH!!! What I fry? MB? CPU? Vid card? memory?

Unplugged all peripherals down until i was left with vid card, HD, mem, CPU...no joy...

So I stewed there for an hour thinking I am going to have to RMA a 2 month old MB....RUNNING AT STOCK SPEED FOR GAWD SAKES.

Checked CPU core to see I didnt crack it while replacing the fans...

CPU was intact so I cleaned and reapplied AS2 and reseated the CPU (AXP1800)

and HALLEJULLAH its fires back up!!!!!

WHA happen?
