I have to disagree with you, because every error it's typing what he's saying almost spot on. He says "capital i" and it prints "capital i" on the screen, he says "captial info" it's printing it on the screen instead of making it capital. If his mic was low quality there's no way it would have this kind of accuracy. I tried this and it worked about as well for me. I question anyone who claims the voice recognition in Vista works wonderfully for them.

Did he say Press Capital I? Or just Capital I? Because if it's just Capital I, then it's going to type out Capital I. You also NEED to speak fluently, that's when it dictates. If you stop and start, then it will start doing combinations.

I tried exactly what he tried in the first 20sec of the video, and i had no problems whatsoever. It sounds like he didn't go through the training (ie he didn't know how to activate cap lock), or his mic is crap and Vista was able to assume what he wanted.
 
Vista voice recognition is fantastic imo. The accuracy rate is insanely good, better than i type if i don't use the backspace. It also has the mousegrid, which is fantastic for ppl who really are disabled. Switching between programs is a BREEZE, although i do have an issue with MSN messenger... i can't dictate fluently in it! I need to type letter by letter! It's faster than using the alphanumeric keys on my cell phones, but i wnat fluent voice recognition in that, and i can't figure it out.

It's not perfect, but man, is it awesome. I tried DNS, not the professional, just the preferred, and i'll definitely say voice recognition is on par with that, and integration of windows if far far superior than DNS.

Well, it's not very accurate for me, at least. Maybe it's getting confused by trying to listen to commands instead of text? I could see how it could be useful for writing out long blocks of text, writing papers, etc. But I think it's a pretty stupid idea to try to control your computer with it.

but seriously what do you expect, its designed to write documents written in the english language, not in freaking Perl. Also, only an idiot would ever try to dictate to a computer no matter how good the speech recognition is (at least for the foreseeable future) when you can type just as fast on your own.
 
I had tears laughing during the first half. But I kind of agree, by halfway through I was getting more mad at the guy for being a total idiot. Most of the issues were his fault, not the software. Was still funny though.
