omg i just watched Hackers 2 - Operation Takedown, what the heck!?

although i am 18, i didnt start computers untli about 2 years ago. so this i had never heard about "mitnick" or "Shimomura." is teh movie totally fluff? im guessing that the "contempt" is fake. but i just read that the cell phone code is true.. what the heck!? haha as i was watching i thought it was a totally made up story. then it goes "Kevin Mitnickw was arrested in 1995..." lol. i was "wtf" .. oh well. whats the controversy? what was mitnick exposing in real life or was he just having fun even though he never "did" [use cc #'s, bank accounts] anything. at the end of the movie they confront each other. what did shin. do that deserved jailtime? because mitnick was mad at him...

well someone dumped to my network drive. people used my drive for temp storage since i have 250gb.. i guess no one has watched it here. its pretty good for a nerd like me. normal people wouldnt understand probably.

oh i see. the whole thing with Mitnick is he was never charged with a crime. they didn't know what to charge him with. But they did know that he had cracked systems and was looking around. i have the book about him and Shin that Shin wrote...but i read it like 6 years ago...so i don't remember much about it.

it wasn't before Mitnick....(well as long as you didn't do any damage to the system other than gaining access to it.) at least that is what i think is the case...not sure.

Naw, it wasn't a really a "sequel" - just called "Hackers 2". It was just the story of Kevin Mitnick. I thought it was much better than the first one becuase it was realistic and believable (well, it kinda had to be for a true story).

One of the main things is how he was held in jail without trial for so long, he did some wrong things and deserved some punishment, but that was not right
