I had two packages coming today for my new system. One was shipped express saver from Newegg which was supposed to be delivered today. Another one from another company shipped 2-day that was scheduled for delivery tomorrow. I tracked both packages online this morning and BOTH were "On FedEx vehicle for delivery". FedEX driver comes to my door with only 1 package - (the express saver). I ask about the other one and he says he's not allowed to release it until tomorrow.

Why the hell can't he give it to me if it's on the truck???

What idiots!!
----------------------------------------

UPDATE:

I called FedEX through the 800 number and gave my mind to the person on the other end. He said he would try to contact the driver for me and have him release it.

Just five minutes ago the same driver pulls up and hands me the package. He gave me a dirty look the whole time and just stormed away after I signed.

HAHA I win

Sounds like a load to me. I've often gotten packages before their scheduled delivery date.

FedEx recently stopped delivering stuff early. People kind of figured out that you could ship something 3-day and most always get it in 2. FedEx was starting to lose money because of this. Makes sense to me.

Had the same thing happen to me multiple times just like LostHiWay... those guys aren't supposed to release it before then, some nice guys do. I've gotten several instances where UPS, FedEx would not come back for delivery because they couldn't find my address. This is after the 1st attempt and a door tag... nitwits.

I understand if they want to hold the package at the warehouse for delivery the next day but what the hell is the use of putting it on the truck and not delivering it. Then taking if off the truck then putting it back on the next morning to deliver.

p.s. Remind me never to invest in such a stupid company

Hey, it could've been worse. Your items could've been shipped UPS...then you'd never have gotten them.

hrm, I've never had that happen, but I'm sure if you bring the tracking number to the ups distribution center in your town they would give it to you. On another note, I've noticed that ups has been fairly slow these past couple of weeks. I had package shipped to me last week, day after xmas, and its not supposed to get here till the 7th, what is the deal with that. When I track it has been on it's way to salt lake city from pheonix for the past 4 days :| why can't there be a happy medium to shipping????

I was waiting for a package from Newegg one time and the Fedex site said that it was at my local facility. I had to take a friend to the airport and as I was passing the Fedex building I stopped in to see if I could just pick up my package. The lady behind the desk said "It's here at the facility but we can't release it until tomorrow, sorry." I asked her why not and she wouldn't tell me...she just said that it wasn't "ready" to be released. WTF? The only reason I didn't get REALLY mad about it was because I was just passing by...at least I didn't make the 15 mile trip just to hear that crap!

You might have won this round, but expect future packages that don't require a signature to be thrown from the truck towards your door.

Hahaha... sounds like FedEx will soon modify their software not to show things to be on trucks after 2-days. :)

if( onTruck )
{
if( 3_day delivery == True && day == 2 )
{
onTruck = False;
}
elseif( 3_day_delivery == True && day == 3 )
{
if( driver_hates_you )
{
driver's_revenge(time_delay);
}
}

}

String driver's_revenge(long int time_delay)
{
while(day < time_delay)
{
return "What package?! ";
}
}

Yep, Its un American for anyone to make a profit! Keep this up and bring FedEx down to UPS levels and we all suffer.

Pay for 2 days (or 3) , get 2 days, whats wrong with that? Try UPS, lucky if you get it at all, in usable condition or the driver doesnt bowl up your driveway with it or drop it off the back of the truck never mind the handling in the terminals.

I agree with making a profit but it seems they would lose money coming to my house 2 days in a row when they could do it in one. Also the extra loading and unloading of the package.

You're forgetting something. UPS/FedEx/Insert Courier Service is UNION. That means that on the 29th and 30th, nothing happens since it's a weekend, and on the 31st and 1st, nothing happens again, since it's a "holiday". They might take your stuff, but they won't send it for a while. But that is pretty late, after all that...

BTW, the sonofabitches came and left again, without delivering my damn printer. I forgot to sign that stupid ass door tag thing, and the jackass leaves another one. F|_|cker. I read this thread, and that's how i remembered that I had this on my door =(. And, to top it all off, according to this tag, they are unable to leave the shipment because it contains Firearms/drugs/alcohol/tobacco. WTF?

Actually, UPS is union, FedEx is not. I was in the UPS union, and people were always yapping about how FedEx doesn't give the good benefits that UPS does.

LostHiway-

I agree with you in reality but not in execution. Why pay for next day when if you pay for 3 day it gets there next day? Good customer relations but bad for botom line. I think they should deliver if on truck or possible but not guarantee it. Ive had packages delayed just so as not to beat the delivvery date but if they just do as they promise, I am happy. How many dont?

LoL, you paid for 3 day delivery and GOT 3 day delivery, and now your mad? ROFL!!!

Bet next time you buy a computer part, you'll get really mad when the correct part shows up! ROFL!!!

As long as the 3day delivery didn't turn into 4 day then you have ZERO to whine about...

i have had good with FEDUP. if i find that the package is here in my town and not scheduled to deliver the next day I just call them and ask if i can pick it up. never had any problems with them

ups on the other hand likes to be very helpfull by tossing packages over my 6ft fence without ever trying to honk or beep or yell to let me know they are there. so very nice of them

airborne is a bunch of stupid idiots in this town . as they like to deliver to the wrong address and then tell me that a attempt of delivery was made and i wasnt home. hm home where down the road? then they just send back the package and it takes another week or more to get it back

That's the way business is done - it's too bad the driver didn't moon you on his way out because you sound like a little whiny baby

You guys all diss fedex, but so far the UPS man always leaves my packages in the garage, so I can at least always get them. FedEx wont :(

But, I wouldn't hold it against fedex, they're just trying to make money like anyone else...
