😱 They haven't came out yet, but the dentist recommended I remove them now to prevent my teeth from becoming crooked.

😱 I hope they don't stick those needles in the roof of my mouth. I hate that.

EDIT: well it was done. Right now I feel very very drowsy, and tired. at first my face felt swollen but the feeling went. right now it feels like my jaws are falling off.

quite painful but not too bad. 🙁 I threw up 3 times already. i was in the car with my mom and a rolled down the window and puked, then when i got home, i puked twice.

You can always be completly knocked out.

zomg...i have to get my wisdom teeth out before they kill all my other teeth!

but it's so hard getting an appointment with my dentist due to his crappy hours and my work schedule.

plus i'm poor. don't have enough money for surgery when i've got bills and gas and car repairs to pay for. 🙁

What did you ask for? What did they say was available?

The oral surgeon completely knocked me out ( IV in the arm ) - had to crush/crack the damned things.

I didn't ask. I remember when I had one of my teeth pulled out, they stuck two needles in the roof of my mouth, and put laughing gas. Plus they put some strawberry flavored numbing stuff.

I assumed they might just do the same.

Go for knocked out. They said I grabbed a nurses ass and didn't know it because of being sedated, but I remeber 😉.

lol. If they let me choose to get knocked out, then I'll go for that.

Wow, no one on ATOT has ever had their wisdom teeth out or posted a thread about it. Congratulations on being the first.

I went for the full anesthesia, because some were not erupted. It was alright, but the problem was that as soon as I woke up they started telling me important instructions. If my friend hadn't been paying attention I would never have followed them.

Make sure that they knock you out first, otherwise you aren't going to like what you see. I can't remember how long the procedure took on me, but it wasn't more than an hour and a half. You feel groggy and your face is asleep, but you will like the results better. Just make sure that when the procedure is done, you keep your gauze in and don't chew crunchy foods for a couple weeks. You will regret it if you do.

I'd definitely go for general anesthesia, although I'm sure it's more expensive. I had general anesthesia. Really the experience wasn't that bad. They gave me a week's worth of pain killers and I was fine. Got to lounge around the house doing nothing all day without the wife nagging me.

Get anesthesia. It will knock you out in a few seconds, and then you won't feel a thing. But a week or two after words it hurts a lot...

I got mine pulled last month. I had general anesthesia, they put an IV in me. I don't remember anything from the time they put the needle in me to when I woke up in my bed. Apparently I was party awake for the whole thing.

i got general. i was pretty groggy afterwards. pretty much had to be carried to the car. i lay on the couch and watched movies all day, and my face was pretty swollen. it took about a week before everything was really back to normal.

Two months ago, i got FOUR wisdom teeth pulled out. All in the same sitting. Its NOT the surgery that hurts. They give you anaesthesia for that.

Dude, its what comes AFTER the surgery that hurts. Seriously. I'd NEVER want to go thru that. But you'll survive. I think. 😀

So true. so far that's the worst pain and healing process i have ever experienced.

Screw the drugs and being knocked out. Had all 4 of mine CUT out in the dentist office while wide awake. No big deal. The next day with all the packing and trying to keep from getting dry socket is the pain in the rear about it

Eh, I had my 4 taken out at the same time. It sucks for a week and if you get an infection it'll take longer (I had one from a fricken bone chip about a week after everything had "healed up". Point is after a while you wont even remember how much it sucked and you'll be glad you got it done.
