I was cruising through my bag of Lays Bistro Gourmet Sharp Chedder and Jalapeno chips when I dropped one! :Q After staring blankly at it for a second or two, I grabbed some more chips from the bag, shoved them in my mouth, picked it up, and at the potato chip. After chewing and swollowing, I'm wondering how long it has been on the ground.

After that, I'm wondering how long it takes before you guys won't eat it. Generally, I like the, "Is there anything on there that doesn't look right?" method and the, "I know whats been on THAT floor, this is goign in the trash."

<== Goes back to eating chips and drinking Snapple Ice Tea. Hey, I try to consume something the least bit healthy. Well, compared to my usual drinks of mixed soda and such.

You know, after being in the army, and eating some of the food (at least I was told it was food) that I have eaten, as long as I was the one who dropped it and nothing is growing on it yet, it is fair game....

:)

edit:

I don't even have to be the one who dropped it. As long as I saw it dropped and the person originally trying to eat it doesn't have any infiectious or communicable diseases.......

I always liked the 10 day rule. If it's not hairy, green, or smelling like ass, then it's fine! ;)

yeah, that works for me too.. i'm not to picky. and if it is hairy, i can usually wash it off or brush it off and then eat it. (supposing the hairs aren't short and curly)

I would say that the stuff that sticks to it is probably better for you than the chip.

Well for me it's as long as you don't have to fight it to eat it, it's ok... Besides if you blow on it, should be desinfected no? heheh

if it is dry like a chip and the floor is dry it can go for 10 minutes i dont care

but if the ground or the object is wet say a scoop of icecream than or like popsicle it either gets under the faucet or goes to the trash

Remember from the Hitch hiker's Guide, anyone? When Arthur picked out the "least hairy thing out of his refrigorator", threw it on a plate and went away at it? :D

Unless it's a piece of cheese. In which case, it it's hairy, green and stanky, it's EVEN BETTER!

Judging from this thread, I should have kept the 2 slices of white bread I left in my unplugged fridge over Christmas break *3 weeks* to feed to you guys.

Well, er... I mean kept the weird smelling puff balls that emitted spores throughout my room when I opened the fridge.
