OMG I disabled video in hardware manager

Yep, dumb I know, but I disabled the video card in device manager (long story, had swapped v3 out and cascaded a Nvidia it was not being detected and stupid me went and disabled it). Result, when XP Pro boots up, the screen is blank, because the card is disabled in softwear. Any tips on how to fix this. I tried installing XP on another drive, trhen activating restore, but it does not find the original restore on C:....Help please, I'm loath to loose all the settings on the original file. If anybody knows what file I need to edit that would be great. Thanks....

I've tried everything. Safe mode still produces a blank screen. I can boot it up ok with new windows install on other HDD, but I want the original back if possible. Must be a flie some place that keeps the hardware manager details, but don't know where to find it.

I've done the same thing.

Try an old video card, swap it with the current one, new video card detected so it should load new drivers for it, go in and remove all drivers for the video card in there now, then replace video card. works like a charm.

This is a horror. regarless of using diferent cards. or trying F8 boots, as soon as windows kiks in the screen goes blank. I can start windows usinf the new install on d:, but need to know what file to edit to get hte version on c: going properly
