Okay I just got the above motherboard from Newegg a few hours ago... I was about to put my Crucial PC2100 256mb DDR in the mobo and It will NOT fit in!.. this is the description of the motherboard.

MSI K7T Turbo2
Supports SDR SDRAM upto 1.5 GB

And this is what the mobo manual says:
The mainboard provides 3 sockets for 168-pin UNBUFFERED SDRAM DIMM modules and supports a maximum memory size of 1.5 GB

Is there something missing? You're telling me there are Different types of RAMs within DDR memory???

Thanks.

[EDIT]
oops posted the wrong mobo.. this is it.. what's SDR SDRAM!?!?

Look at this page carefully I think you'll see the problem Crucial

Looks to me like Crucial has the wrong memory linked for that motherboard.

EDIT-- nope. according to Solteks page that board supports 184 pim memory. I think you got a different mobo.

It supports DDR, that chipset doesn't support SDRAM AFAIK.

Dude, are you lining up the grooves?

Are you sure you received the right motherboard and manual?

If the manual says 168 pin SDRAM something is wrong, especially if the manual matches the motherboard.

what version of the manual do you have? i just got version 2.0 that's dated march 2002 and lists supporting 184-pin ddr ram (PC1600/2100). must have an older manual.. and as someone said earlier, installed it the wrong way..

You bought the wrong memory.

When did you buy it? Is it still under warranty?

SDR=SingleDataRate, DDR=DoubleDataRate.... simplified it means that SDR is clocked once per cycle (1*133) DDR is clocked twice per cycle (2*133)...

You should really know these things before buying anything...

Lol! I remember that as the punchline to a joke.

I once try to cram an EDO SDRAM DIMM into a regular SDRAM DIMM slot... it was slightly off....
