OMG I can't believe they didn't do the Haka!

For those who don't know or care about Rugby - here's the deal:

After the other team sings the national anthem at the beginning of an international game, the tradition is for the New Zealand team to do a 'Haka'. The Haka is the ancient war dance of the Maori, who are the native people of New Zealand, and who make up a good part of the team. They have _always_ done this.

Here is a Haka.

So I'm watching the game between New Zealand and Wales, and New Zealand has just started the game without doing a Haka... I have never ever seen this. There's been all sorts of crap about how the other teams don't like it, it's too threatening etc. Load of rubbish in my opinion. Why should it be outlawed - because the other teams just about wet their pants watching it? The pussification of sport continues.

The Welsh wanted the All Blacks to do the haka in between then anthems instead of after, but they disagreed and did one in the changing rooms before the game anyway to get themselves pumped.

I was at work so I couldn't watch the Wales game, but I find it extremely disheartening that a Haka wasn't performed. As a proud Kiwi I love the haka and it never fails to get my blood pumping. I certainly hope this isn't a sign of things to come, as the Haka is one of sports greatest traditions.
