When you click a link within your Hotmail emails, it would spawn a new window with a top frame indicating: "You are viewing a link outside of Hotmail. Close this window to return to Hotmail."

IT'S GONE.

No more problems with cookies/logging in when the spawned window has a login box. I must've complained about this on AT about 3 times in the last 2 years.

The only reason I have a Hotmail account is for ordering things online. I use that as my e-mail so that if the company decides to sell it's customer list, I don't have to worry about getting spam in my personal account.

Because I've had my account for 7 years or so.
Exactly the reason. I have most of my important accounts tied to this email account and switching them to my gmail one by one will take a huge effort. Since they now offer 250MB, I have no reason to switch off.

I use one just for signing up for sites and unimportant stuff. If they spam that, who cares?

What email address did you use for real mail back in ~'95 ? Some of us needed one that would last (past school addresses)... and there weren't many free/cheap options. People need to understand that Hotmail has stuck for so many important things...

It's not like you could just get your own domain/host for pennies and have your own email address back in 1995... hell, there was so little spam back then too...

too late, though...that stupid banner was one of the principle reasons I moved away from Hotmail.

Why you haven't been run over by a car baffles me.
He's got a point, though. Hotmail sometimes drops e-mails sent to and from me, and even when that doesn't happen, it can take up to 5 minutes for them to deliver.

Since Hotmail is now making people pay pop access fee I think I will be using my Gmail accounts a lot more.
