Ok its a wierd question but probaly an easy solution that I dont know. I have been on my wireless setup a few weeks now. and the network card is USB(wireless nic) well You know that little icon in the taskbar that pops up, look like a little green arrow over a white box/piece of paper or something. Well that wont go away. I cant figure out how to get it to go away but still function/work. On my other computer using the same card, same OS,etc, its not there. I dont know what I did if anything to get that to go away. Is there an option I can select to make it go away? LMK if thats enough info

thx

in win2k i opened it up (right click then click on whatever sub menu comes up) and there's a checkbox to show it on the taskbar or not.

Is it really that annoying just to let it be there? I know what you are talking about, I get it when I plug my Firewire 80GB HDD in. It doesn't bother me, though.

The icon is there so that you can stop hardware before unplugging it. It is there if you have a PCMCIA device or USB device plugged in. I guess in this case it is your wireless NIC. If you want to get rid of it, you can always right click on a blank area of the task bar, open up properties, and click on the customize button. You have the option of permanently hiding that icon, if you want.

Are you running on 256mb or something? Even if you have 512MB, there's no way that is running more than a single megabyte of memory. I think you may be getting upset for no reason. :) I don't think it'll hinder your gameplay...maybe 1/1000th of your current FPS.

when i right click my icon it says "unplug or eject hardware" and then i click that. the "unplug or eject hardware" applet comes up, and there's a checkbox for showing the icon on the task bar. once again this is win2k, so it might be different for your OS. not sure which OS you're running tho.
