In my dorm I used to leave it on PBSHD when nothing else was on, just because it was in HD. :p

It is! I feel sorry for all those people who go to the store to buy a plasma, and compare the EDTV to HDTV on SD content, and pick up an EDTV instead.

We bought the Samsung TXR3079WH just before Christmas and we've been receiving HDTV over the air with an antenna.
Our analog cable looks like crap now!! All of the local stations broadcast in digital here, and most of them show some programming in HD. PBS HD looks great, and football games on CBS are awesome!

(I would like to say that I am same as ^^. Let's all hope that the Content isn't overshadowed by the merits of the technology. In other words, I want Season 12 of Married...With Children...Stat)

Any HDTV tuner should be able to receive both 1080i and 720p...the video will usually be scaled to the display's native resolution, if it has one (fixed-pixel displays, or CRT's that only do 1080i too for that matter)

Discovery HD Theater broadcasts high definition 24/7.

If your provider passes that to its subscribers is another matter altogether.

Same here. I've been a member of the HD club for about a year now, and have always had DiscoveryHD as one of my HD channels. I've never seen non-HD content on the channel.

To the OP, you'll start to find yourself (and your husband) watching things you would've never watched otherwise just because it's in HD. Be forewarned.
