OMG!!! Have u guys seen the ATI DX9 demos on 9700 hardware?

It will be awhile before I get a new vc. Wifey reasons 🙂 I would most likely buy the new revision of the 9500 pro if I was going to buy a new card now. Can't beat the bang for the buck of that card.

benchmark and demos....is that all some peeps live for? 🙂

show me some games that make use of DX9 and I'll go grab a 9700pro now (of course you'll have to pay for it). My G4-4600 serves me just fine right now with any of the games I play (now that the silly 4in1 drivers work). So I dont have a gazillion 3dmarks and maybe the demos dont look that good...but I'm happy

ohh and Merry Xmas bro (the wife says HI too)!

Catalyst 3.0 drivers + MS DX9 + ATI 9700 + ATI DX9 music demo = Most unbelievable visual experiance I have ever seen on pc...

My god I just watched this after installing the new catalyst and DX9 and I must say that is some impressive stuff.
Now for the games that use this. Wow.

sweet didnt know that catalyst 3 was out, guess I will have to update my beta dx9 drivers and my rc0 of dx9 🙂

Damn, new Catalysts again? And to think that I just downloaded the 2.5 Catalysts the other day (on dialup even).

You know I've heard most games don't even use DX 8's capabilities... in my opinion... DX 9 is like electric cars... it looks good for the future, but it'll be a while before we see it on the consumer level.

Demos are usually much sweeter than what will ever appear in real life. I remember being blown away by a Rage demo a couple years back.

These aren't like any demos you ever seen before on a computer. They definately show a higher level of graphics than anything I've seen on pc platform to date. Just incredible, so incredible that no mpg movie of these to any justice to seeing them crystal clear on your own rig. 🙂 At least these don't BSOD. 😉😛

Finally ATI combined the driver and control panel installs - was getting a little tired of having reboot twice, but they still need to incorporate PowerStripe-esqe controls. C'mon ATI, your're almost there!

Welcome to last year.

Just ordered a 9700pro this morning...

is it possible for someone to convert it to a video file for the non-r300 owners to see?

<~r8500 here

Anyone who installed DX9 experienced any problems with it yet? I'm playing mainly Il-2, so I'd be safe with OpenGL rendering but still worth to ask 🙂 Using Radeon 9500Pro.

DX9 and Cat 3 working peachy keen on my Radeon 8500 LE. Even noticed some graphic improvements in Dark Space, though that maybe the result of undoing some setting I made previously.

I installed the Catalyst 3.0 + DX9 combo on my R9000 pro - I like the new control panel layout and they've finally fixed the refresh rate bug on my second monitor. I'm yet to notice any difference in performance apart from a slight increase in 3DMark (purely out of curiosity before I'm flamed by the leagues of anti-3dmark protesters...)

I downloaded a video of the Animusic demo a while back and was very impressed.
This said, the demos for every new generation of hardware are always good eye candy.

The Dawn and Toys demos for the FX are looking absolutely stunning. I'm still waiting for the games though.

I watched it a couple of times, truely a great piece of work....everybody around the PC just watched it and said Wow!

I must agree, the Cat3.0 and DX9 only demos for the Radeon 9700 are excellent 🙂

I must say I'm impressed with Microsoft for once, they have actually fixed the Win2k/XP bug that keeps your refresh rate in games to anything above 60fps 😀 Coolness.
And as for the Catalysts, these are the best by far, enabling every setting you may want to change including AGP bus speed, truform, and all the other ikkle tweaks.
