I'm originally from about 10mins from Philly (Jersey side).

If you want to hit up the classy/yuppy bars, go to Olde City: 2nd and Market area. Cool bars in Olde City include Continental, Plough of the Stars, and 32 degrees. If you're looking for the younger clubbin' crowd (17-24) go to Deleware Ave, the hotspot is Egypt or 8th Floor. Also, get a cheesesteak from Pat's or Geno's and be sure that it has the Cheese Wiz!

Like another ATer mentioned earlier, go to South Street if you want to go shopping for stuff you won't be able to find anywhere in the world like condoms, bongs, cool art and clothes, etc... philly.com has everything u need to know as well.

Leo's - it's in the Northeast, but is the top rated joint at www.bestcheesesteaks.com
Dalessandro's - In Roxborough - also highly regarded by afficionados

The best cheesesteak I've ever had is in NYC...but I guess it's not a philly cheesesteak as a) it wasn't philly and b) the recipe differs slightly from a classic philly cheesesteak. I've been to philly, but bar none, fave is nyc.

Where? In all the time I lived in Manhattan, I never even found a place that served a cheesesteak. When I finally did, it came on a round roll...

Ok, so I guess I really have to try a cheesesteak, is what you people are trying to say, right? 😉 And South St is on my list too. Hopefully, I will be meeting a few peeps out there too, and getting some real chinese food to boot. 😀 Thanks for all the suggestions so far, I wish I was going for longer than two days. Oh well, gives me a good excuse to go back.

OK, I'm making that up, but, IF they have/had one, with FREE SAMPLES Of cheesecake it might be good. If you like cheesecake. And there's not a line. And it's served by hotties.
