Heh, Progressive is only $45 a month for me for full coverage on a 2005 Scion TC with 100/300/100k coverage with $500 deductible. It is nice having no accidents.

Oh, I'm not confused why its high...I know its going to be high. But 11000 a year is just kind of funny.

Nah. Only need 3 for a good driver discount😉

My rate dropped by nearly 50% thanks to that.

$11,000 a year!? For a Neon!?

They're reaming you. I was quoted $3600 (full coverage) for a 2004 Ferrari 360 Modena (I was just curious what my rate would be for such a car so I asked the rep). Like others have said, look for an independent insurance agent and see if that helps.

Maybe it depends on the carrier. I've only had my license 4 years (5 in July). No tickets/accidents (well, one fender bender but my insurance doesn't know about it). Have had the GDD for almost 2 years now. I'm with 21st Century.

It's their way of telling you they don't want your business.

Any driver with license < 3 years is automatically higher risk. A botched credit/clue report even makes things worse.

Damn thats cheap. As for the original post, yes GEICO is a rip off, they seem to be more expensive then most in almost every single case. They wanted $290 a month from me, I laughed and told them Progressive is $100 a month for me, they flat out called me a liar. I have a tC also, tho I do have a tad more coverage with $250 deductible, and gap insurance.

Heh... it only costs me ~$360 per year for liability on my Beetle (with a spotless record).
With who???

Progressive. It's the second car on the policy, so I get a discount for that. I looked, though, and I was mistaken, it's closer to $600. Hopefully it will drop once I've had coverage for a full year. I was one of those evil people who drove without insurance for four years or so. Sure did save me a lot of money, though.

Wow .. I'm with GEICO. 2 vehicles. My truck has full coverage, my beater car only has minimum coverage. I'm 24 with a speeding ticket and several "other" tickets (I was speeding, but it wasn't written up that way). My insurance is $1100/year.
