Right, nothing happened because a lot of people realized that serious shit would go down if nothing was done, so they took care of it before it was a problem. "Prevention" is a foreign concept for a lot of people.

And the difference for me there was that I am a programmer, so I knew it was crap from the beginning.

I say that all the time. When the pollen cranks up, a lot of people start complaining about their allergies... "nah, probably Ebola."
