I just setup up my dual display 17" and a 14" I had laying around on a G450 and OMG. I don't know how I lived w/o it. I'm definitely going to buy my iiyama510 pro ASAP so I can get rid of this 14". I have winamp & AIM open on the secondary display and my primary is free to do whatever!

Anybody have any tips on how to maximize dual display use? Also is there like a "hot key" I can press to switch the mouse between both displays. I want to be able to use the second monitor when I have a fullscreen game on the primary one.

Dual monitors are AWESOME! But i had to use my 2nd monitor when i built my second box. Yeah, don't i ever miss it... there was a time when i didn't think i couldn't go with dual monitors either.

For the ppl who have used both dual and single with the same card, is there any slowdown when you go to dual...?

I never noticed any slow down. I love dual monitors on my G400. Simply the best. No if only I can save enough money to replace this aging dell 15" monitor with another KDS AV-195TF. Then I can have dual of those. Sweet.

I've used it with a 19 and a 17 inch monitor and a g400 max before, it was really cool. Pretty confusing at first though cause the 2nd monitor wasn't right next to it but since I was testing it the monitor was around the side of me so apps were going hear or there and I had some sort of swivel head thing going on.

I've not noticed any slow down, except when dragging windows between screens, as my second monitor is on an older 4mb PCI video card..

And it is nice.

Hmm, I'm not so sure, thought I never truly could use it with an OS I like (my Win2000 can't get through to my ISP, can't do most my games or CD burning, etc.)
Now I use my 15" trinitron at 1024x768 which is absolutely fine. I don't find using the bar at the bottom of the screen to change between app views a pain at all. If I need lots of windows at once I can do it. As an average kind of user I have to ask myself: why bother with another screen? It takes up desk space and I don't need to look at it. I could use it with another system in the kitchen or something.
Plus, if you share a new good monitor with an old shiit one, you find the change in contrast and quality with the old one etc. a nuisance. Nah, one screen is usually good enough. Though if you're dealing with programming or music apps another screen is OK.
