Hey everyone! Posting from my new machine here.

Can anyone with an SB Audigy tell me how to get rid of the Creative startup "droplet" banner? I don't see the option anywhere.

Edit: Well, at the least the everything on the Internet seems to run a whole lot faster now.

I was recently trying to figure out the same thing while at a friend's house. Do you know the name of the executable which runs that banner? If so, go into the registry and delete the key containing that file. It should be in the following registry dir:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run

If you know which one it is, please tell me. Then I can help out my friend.

I don't feel like messing with the registry just yet :)

I don't mind the banner that much; just kinda annoying/adds like a second or two to my boot time.

The installation of everything has gone just fine so far. I've got a few more hours of software installations to do.

A few, small gripes:
The MS Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 mouse is a little larger than I thought it would be.
The Toshiba 16x is a little on the loud side at max speed. If it only plays at 1x when watching DVDs, then that won't matter.

There is a simple way to disable it. Under the 'creative' folder, goto 'sound blaster audigy', and run 'creative EAX'. This little blue box should appear. Click on the paper icon, and unckeck the run on start up. close it, and goodbye little intro!

Start > Run > msconfig > Startup tab

If running Windows 2000 or XP, download here and rename it to msconfig.exe. Put it in your Windows System directory.

Go to Start/Programs/Creative/SBAudigy/Creative EAX

Run it
Click on the smaller circle on the right bottom.
uncheck - load on startup.

and it is gone :)

Great GT. DTS sound rules! Now, get a real home theater system and be prepared to be blown away even more! Not too trash your system...it's awesome for Desktop DVD. But a true home theater system, while expensive, is a worth the price for the enjoyment of watching better than-theater sound at home.

I hooked up my pc to our home theater system in the living room via an optical connector and my audigy platinum...

Can tell you that the matrix really sounded better off of my computer than our dish... :)
