OMG - Armed raiders steal £840,000 in computer kit

Armed robbers made off with approximately £840,000 of computer equipment after a raid on a warehouse on the outskirts of London last Friday morning.

Police believe five men (some wearing balaclavas) were involved in the raid on Dimensions Cargo, Isleworth during which one member of staff was threatened with a gun.

One of the five suspects, who entered through the front of the building, ordered a male staff member at gun-point to show them where goods were stored in the warehouse. The suspects then stole a large quantity of computer equipment from the warehouse and a number of boxes from a brown delivery van, which arrived at the warehouse during the raid.

The suspects (four Asian and one white) then made off in a silver BMW, 328I Tourer, with the registration number P609 TFR, which police later found burnt out in Castle Road, a few streets away from where the robbery occurred.

Before it was set on fire, the suspects are thought to have transferred to stolen property into a blue Omega car. Police are appealing for anyone with information on the whereabouts of this vehicle or its possible registration number.

A white Mercedes Sprinter van, reg. M11 RSX, was also believed to have been involved in the armed robbery, and was found burnt out, nearby, in Granger Road.

Officers from Hounslow CID are investigating the robbery and are currently examining CCTV as part of their inquiries.

There have been a string of thefts around this area that have targeted Computer parts shipments. Sounds like organised crime is going digital....

BTW: Isleworth stinks. No, i mean it actually smells bad, like sh!t.

Computer parts cost a lot more in London, I bet. If they stole the parts to build 20 computers, they may have jacked their estimates of the value to get more of a response by the police.

Or, they could have stolen Macs, laptops, or Xeon processors... That would make the price go up pretty fast.
