Pretty lame if you ask me. Guy sounds like he's selling Depends or phramacuticals.

AMD needs some pizzaz something memorable.. Personally I'd have some dudes base jumping, and other crazy xtreme sports, gotta have boobies in bikini tops doing the same, gotta have young good lookers talking about never settle for boring, second best etc.
 
I dunno Zebo, they seem to be focussing that commercial mostly towards a certain professional crowd than your average beer-guzzling-wife-beater...

Anyway, that ad struck me as being a weird combination of faux tech demo and car ad. They really ought to hire on whichever firm does Apple's ads instead.
 
At least it doesnt suck like the original ones they did about 64bits. I dont think the 64bit ones ever aired though.
 
AMD does sponser team discovery, they have been doing a fair amount of advertising on OLN, I agree the commercial isn't that great but its a step in the right direction

Well I?m not sure on your first point, they have made a start. It' about CPU's which is quite clear, and maybe they do or don?t care.

To be honest I don?t think the average mom or dad understands anything about blue men acting funny to promote chips, but Intel pumped it out to high heaven.

Besides, nothing wrong with a bit of competition. Or is there 😉

I simply asked a question. By drawing a conclusion to my opinion, you are reading WAY more into it.


On the CPU forum, people talk about bias all the time. Even though the question I posed is a very good one, and completely without bias, it was bound to happen that someone would begin to point fingers.

Hence the reason I rarely post here anymore.
 
The ad sucked! Face it clark, unmemorable as background noise. AMD needs some crazy sh1t since they can't afford to run a billion ads like intel for the stuff to sink into your brain.. They need to win whatever the academy award for TV ads is so they get others to play it for free.

AMD's green men > Intels blue men.

AMD used to sponsor Blackburn Football club in the English Premiership and I believe they did a lot of sponsoring on Formula 1.

Darts, Snooker and Rugby are rather popular sports they could advertise on.
