I actually love being tech support. I get a sense of gratification when somebody comes in with a dead system, and almost pulling there hair out trying to get it to work, and i fix it for them.
But what i absolutely hate are liars. I had a customer come in the other day, claiming he had 16 years of experience as a computer technician, and that he works for a large company and puts in hundreds of systems a year. He comes in, complaining the 2000XP CPU we sold him was defective, that it didn't go as high as advertised. He kept saying how this is bad business, this is the 2nd CPU he received from us with the same problem, that he can't keep taking time off work to come here to exchange these defective problem. And the problem? He expected it to go 2000mhz! When of course it only goes 1666mhz. I of course had to explain it to him, that the 2000 is only a marketting number so they can compete with Intel.
I just got off the phone with another gentlement, who's exact words were 'i've installed windows on a million different machines, so i have some experience in this.' His problem? The computer we sold him was suppose to have a videocard, soundcard, network, etc, but when he opened it, all the PCI slots were empty. Why? IT WAS ALL ONBOARD THE MOTHERBOARD. Then he complained, how the hell is he suppose to identify the computer if everything is onbard, he can't tell the videocard, soundcard, etc hardware if they were all onboard. I had to walk him through how to download the motherboard drivers....
