OMG a lappy thats probably better than most peoples rigs

I think you made a typo. Should've been:

Topic Title: OMG a lappy thats probably bigger than most peoples rigs

Thats the catch, DTRs like this aren't meant for mobility, but portability. You have all your computing needs packed up in a really small form compared to even an LCD and a FlexATX desktop + keyboard and cables.

People are still hooked on the term "laptop", when most of these things aren't even claimed as such. This one is being called a "notebook", granted a really big and heavy one. But again I stress the DTR should really be looked as a really slim form factor desktop, not laptop, because you certainly won't want it on your lap. The weight isn't even the issue there, because 14 lbs really isn't that bad, its the weight of baby. The problem would be heat, this thing would have to be a lap burner.

Meh..I posted this laptop in Video and Laptops...didn't think to post about it here. 😛

I'm considering picking one up to replace my XPS Gen2 with a 7800 Go GTX, but I'm not sure yet. At least the Gen2 isn't 14 lbs. 🙂

That's a good point. People should start making PCs like the new iMacs -- a 3.5" hard drive, a real keyboard, and no other cables.

Woohoo, a mobile toaster that'll run for 3 minutes without being plugged in 😀

It'd actually be pretty good for lanpartys though.
