1) Decline the item
2) Have it shipped to some-one in the US and ask them to mail you a letter.

Is it an actual customs charge or did the shipping company charge it? Sometimes there is a flat fee or an arbitrary fee that has nothing to do with the actual cost of the item, and it is always agreat deal higher than what the actual customs fee would be. FedEx does this in Mexico and it pisses me off. I've refused to accept computer parts many times because of this, when the import fee is over the cost of the actual item.

I'm 100% sure that it wasn't customs that nabbed you, but your shipping company. Fedex, UPS, etc all charge a brokerage fee for clearing customs for you. This can be an ungodly amount. If you want to have things shipped to you from the US make sure it's shipped USPS, I think their brokerage fee is only $5. Canada customs (the CRA) only charges sales tax (PST/GST/HST, depending on your location) on most items. Clothing, shoes etc that were made outside of North America have duties on them, and there are a few other items, but that's the rule of thumb.

It cost only USD$19 and have it shipped it Canada..I got charged a custome of USD$25 for import fee...WTF is going on???

That's because they don't know how to ship.. Gotta be smart when shipping cross border..My sister bought something from Amazon.com once and she was charged $45 on it.. her friend got charged $20 for a $10 book.. they both used UPS which is not the best shipping method out there!

Ive done a few trades here, and at HardOCP.. all my parts will arrive next week so I'll let you guys know my results and how much I've been charged 🙂
