everything went wrong this evening...

first my tire peeled apart in the middle of a 1 lane construction zone with concrete barriers on both sides.

after i made it to where i could pull over the tire chunk flinging around had fvcked up the body of my car...then after i got the spare on i realized it didn't have enough pressure to support the weight of the car :roll:

so i had to drive on my flat spare for about 5 miles toa gas station to air it up...luckily it survived and i continued on my way.

then for some reason my phone charger decided it wasn't going to charge anymore...and of course my phone was almost dead and lasted about another 15 minutes...had to go to 4 different stores to find a charger that would work with my picky ass phone...

then i got pulled over by some dickhead cop who searched my car for about an hour...of course, after he didn't find anything of interest he just left and left everything from my car in a pile on the side of the road :|

about that time my brother calls, his car fvcked up and he was stranded out in bufu somewhere...so i head down I-40 east to some backwoods place called hinton to get him...problem was, there was some static on the line...he said I-40 west, not east...so i had driven almost 60 miles in the wrong direction 😱

i really expected to get creamed by a semi and die on the way home

he said he smelled pot

he saw someone with long hair and jewelry and figured he had found himself a drug dealer, that's my guess anyway...

this sh1thole state can't afford very many of them...i've actually only had a canine unit ran around my car once...and i've been pulled over a lot

some dodgy tire places will sell retreads as new tires beware of cheap new tires, retreads can be very dangerous, they are generally speed rated at pathetically low speeds, I have seen them with ratings as low as 110km/h, their pretty easy to spot if you know what to look for, just look at the side wall and if it looks slighty feathered near where the tread pattern starts it's safe to say it's a retread and is to be avoided at all costs, a new trie shouldn't shread like yours did unless it had a manufacturing defect.
I was in an accident back in 2000 where a blown retread resulted in the car I was passanger in rolling 3 times...that hurt like all hell

i'm headed to the tire shop tomorrow...i'll certianly find out...thx for the info...if they sold me a retread they're definitley paying for the damage to my car...if not i'll probably go after the manufacturer..dunno how much luck i would have with that though...do tire warranties usually cover just the tire or what?

I'm not sure about the warranty, if it's a retread, it probably wont have much of a warranty.

did the tire peel open like you would peel an orange or apple, like one big tread layer?

it peeled in several pieces from what i can tell...but i had to drive on it for a mile or so...so it may have come off as one chunk and that disentegrated...
 
yep, sounds like a retread, did it damage the guard around it by folding up the back edge and folding down or spreading the front edge?

i'm not really sure on that one..the damage is at the back of the wheelwell, closer to the rear of the car on the front passenger side...it bent the body up and in right at the bottom and also took out the plastic splash guard right behind the front bumper...it messed things up pretty good...mangled the hell out of the trim as well

and let me tell you, a 12 foot wide space between two concrete walls is not where you want your tire to fly apart at 60mph...i damn near hit the barrier on the right side...pretty scary experience...i thought for sure i was gonna smack that wall

EDIT: i'll try to get pics of the damaged side and the other side posted tomorrow
