The Boston - New York bus ride isn't that bad. I've taken it from time to time when I'm in NY and miss my train and it's too late to catch another one.

I did have one interesting experience a couple years ago when I missed my train after an international flight. I had this hot girl sit next to me, and unbeknownst to me her boyfriend got on and was sitting behind her. He asked me to change seats and I said, No, I was comfortable with my window seat. He was pissed, got loud, and then offered me money to change seats; the last amount being $300. lol. I still said no. Wanted to teach him a lesson about trying to be loud and then thinking he could buy me. Anyhow, me and the girl actually kicked it off. She was very cool. I eventually liked her enough and felt bad that I changed seats when we stopped for food. (should have took the money instead.. lol). Anyhow, when we got to Boston and got off, her boyfriend went to the bathroom and me and the girl continued to talk. Eventually we exchanged numbers (she's always in Boston. I'm generally in NY and she was hott). Never pursued it, but we still keep in contact on Facebook.

in the commercial strip a couple blocks from my house there are a couple businesses that advertise as buss depots to NYC. Last time I remember looking long enough to see anything one of them offered at $100 (no idea if one way or both). Few times I've gone by when a bus is in the lot, have been a good number of people getting on (along with a lot full of cars dropping them off).

Money over safety from his perspective.

Now he will find out that purchasing an one way airline ticket on short notice is even more expensive than the round trip on a 3 week notice.

meh...take amtrak back (provided there is amtrak service from NC -> NYC)

Meh..

Try riding on a double decker bus in Thailand. I went from Bangkok to Cambodia one time and never again. The front window had duck tape on the driver's side because it was cracked. The tires were bald and deflated. The driver drove like a maniac. Buses in Thailand are known to be deathtraps.

Going back to Bangkok wasnt much better. I got into a white van with my girlfriend. The driver drove super fast. The van was packed with people. To make matters worse the Thai army were doing checkpoints so they could check on foreign passports. I had an AK 47 pointed at me. I had to prove that my passport was valid. Besides that everything was great!

LOL. When my ex lady friend was at school in Boston, we both used to ride this frequently. Holy shit - that was a much more thrilling (and cheaper) experience than any amusement park I've been to. It was perfect for broke ass college students.

I vote with you! If you are a people watcher and don't decide to play bus sheriff such a trip can be entertaining! :)

I dunno, I've never been on the NY to NC or NY to Boston, but the NY to Phila was very tame. Bathroom didn't permeate the whole bus or anything.

But yeah...cheap bus...expect it to attract the lowest common denominator.

Shit ever.

So far: Junkie on the bus started smoking in the bathroom.
The bathroom smell on the bus is ridiculous.
Lady locked the driver out of the bus while he was getting gas.
People in front of me wanted to start a fist fight with junkie for 30 minutes non stop.
Smells like underarms now.
Driver is mad at life.

Jesús Hume Christ - wtf were we thinking. Gonna be an expensive flight home now...lol. I can't deal with this ghetto ass shit again.

What the hell is a Chinese bus? Just take a Megabus next time.
