It's raining sooo hard in LA, I just went out for a drive to see the conditions, wasn't too smart of a move :Q

The entire street is FLOODED, it looks like a RIVER.
I went to the center of the road, and put my hand in the water to see how deep it was, it was nearly 5 inches deep!! That's in the center of the road too! The edge must be at least 10 inches deep!

Trees were knocked down all over the road. Wow this is bad.

sorry no camera 🙁
and I just went out to check again, it already cleared up now that the rain has backed down a bit!

Thanks to the natural valley that forms next door, we get about a foot and change of water in the road. Next rain I'll try to get pics of the people in Jeeps blasting through it 😀

I was going to work one day, and it rained and the water was a couple of inches on the walks (and I couldn't see the curbs 🙁 ) It was like 6 inches on the road.
but it was 4 years ago, so I might be a few % off

another reason why we suck in socal:

when we get the first rain of the season and everyone crashes because they forgot how to drive with water on the road and all the street drains get backed up with 6 months worth of trash and flood all the intersections, even the people who don't have to drive anywhere get in their cars to go "check it out."

needless to say, today's commute was NOT fun.

hey it was 3AM, there wasn't a SINGLE car out in the road at that time, especially with the poor conditions outside.

Ummmm, build an ark!

Remind me.... how long is a cubit?

I'd better get started. 😀

umm err, I used to know what a cubit is, nevermind that. Build it, and gather 2 of every animal.

riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight

😀

Psh.. that's nothing. One Winter back in NJ, it was raining really hard and it got so cold that it started freezing upon contact. In the morning the entire street was covered in 2-3 inches of clear solid ice. It's like having your own ice skating rink.
