<< An FAA employee in Texas confirmed the incident, calling it "an outrage." Prince Abdullah is "in our country and should adhere to our rules," the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. >>

ooooooookay, and we're the one's that got suuuuuuuuper pissed off that women were forced to cover themselves up (or whatever the hell it was, i don't remember it right now) while based in saudi arabia

but we're in their country, we should follow their rules

I don't remember us getting "super pissed off" about it, in fact, it was the military policy for years that female troops wear the covering. That policy was only revoked when a court challenge to it was posed by one of our female soldiers, and it was going to be upheld.

The U.S. can and often does act hypocritically, but i'm not sure that this is the best example. If you were talking about, say, our propensity to lecture others on free trade, then impose a tariff on steel, i'd be right with you. Or our lectures on democracy, then watch a coup taking place in Venezuala while we wink and look away, you'd also be onto something.

I could be wrong, but if I recall, that "female soldier" was a lietenant colonel (an O-5!) on her way out...she wanted to send a message to Saudi Arabia, rather than US military policies...
